    MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Pardee Home is to preserve and interpret the historic Pardee family residence, including its gardens and collections, for the education and enjoyment of the citizens of Oakland and the greater Bay Area, and for visitors from throughout the nation and world.

    Directions to the Pardee Home:

The museum is located at 672 11th Street in downtown Oakland, at the corner of 11th and Castro Streets, overlooking Interstate 980 and next to Preservation Park.  There is no parking on 11th Street, but free, two-hour parking is available on Castro, Martin Luther King Jr., and 12th Streets. Motorists from the south on Interstate 880 should take the exit marked "10th and 14th Streets," located where I-880 curves into I-980, and proceed north two blocks to the museum.  Motorists from San Francisco or Berkeley should exit off I-580 onto I-980 and take the exit marked "11th and 12th Streets." Turn left on 11th and the house is clearly visible once you cross over the freeway.

Or, we are a delightful four-block walk from the 12th St. BART station, through City Center, the Federal Building, and Preservation Park, and we are also easily accessible from AC Transit buses, with many lines running along Broadway and 14th St., and lines 14 and 62 providing direct service to the house on 11th and 12th Streets.
